The Plovdiv Council of Socialists withdrew its political confidence from the BSP Executive Bureau in an extraordinary meeting tonight.
The unprecedented declaration of the Reds in the city in the hills comes after the Office of Cornelia Ninova earlier today decided to propose to the National Council the leader of Plovdiv, Georgi Gergov, that he be expelled from the party.
The reasons for the unanimous decision of the BSP-Plovdiv plenary are: systematic violation of the Party Statute, incompetent leadership and intentional creation of conflicts, behind which there is a desire to weaken the party.
“The socialists of the district and the country cannot and must not remain indifferent to this arrogant violation of the statutory principles and norms, which are the organizational and moral basis of the BSP.
In the year of two important elections, this behavior guarantees another loss for the BSP, which is a betrayal of the traditions and principles of our 130-year history, “said BSP-Plovdiv.
They claim that they differ from the actions of the leadership, that they even contradict the basic law of the Socialists: the Statute.
“We have no right to remain silent and to be complicit in the destruction of the socialist tradition, the anti-fascist memory and the Russian line,” the document says.
