Expert recommends brief state closures due to COVID-19 – Diseases

Between 15 and 20% are people who die from hospital admissions. From 4,000 infected, we can jump to 8,000 infected per day. Bulgaria is one of the least tried countries. Therefore, we do not have a clear picture of how the virus moves. The services are absolutely sold out. We do not manage the pandemic at all from an epidemic point of view. This was stated to BTV by Petar Velkov, mathematician, lecturer, expert in crisis management.

He told bTV that it was “horrifying” that the number of doctors infected with the coronavirus was high. He added that medical luminaries are being lost and others are out of service indefinitely. According to him, the data that there are younger people without accompanying symptoms dying from the coronavirus are also worrying.

Petar Velkov said the situation is not optimistic for education either. There were 8 infected teachers in one week.

“For a period of at least 14-20 days, we have to go to distance education. Without a blockade for a short period of measures, we cannot cope. Without human capital, we cannot save anything,” he insisted.

The expert noted that even the World Bank has agreed that short closings give a breath of fresh air.
