The Energy and Water Regulatory Commission / EWRC / held a closed-door meeting, in which it took a decision in relation to the request submitted by Bulgargaz EAD for approval of a price for January 2021, in which the public provider will sell natural gas to final suppliers and persons who have been licensed for the production and transmission of thermal energy. This was announced by the regulator.
The Commission’s pricing decision was made in accordance with the amended terms of the contract between Bulgargaz EAD and OOO Gazprom Export, the terms of the contract between Bulgargaz EAD and Azerbaijan Gaz Supply Company Limited / AGSC / and the corresponding agreements.
The decision taken by the Commission takes into account the updated price of natural gas proposed by Bulgargaz EAD, which reflects the information received on the market indices of the European gas centers for December 2020 and on the average monthly exchange rate for the conversion of the euro into US dollars. from the European Central Bank for the same period, the average prices of alternative fuels to natural gas: fuel oil with a sulfur content of 1 percent and diesel with a sulfur content of 0.1 percent as at 31.12.2020. The public supplier’s updated price application includes and new quantities of natural gas to be delivered from January 1, 2021, according to the contract with AGSC, Azerbaijan.
With the EWRC decision, it approved a price of natural gas from January 1, 2021 in the amount of BGN 26.93 / MWh / without access prices, transmission, special taxes and VAT /. For the previous month, December 2020, the price of natural gas approved by the regulator was BGN 27.70 / MWh. The change in the price of natural gas will not affect heating and electricity prices and they remain unchanged.
The decision to approve the price of natural gas will be published today on the regulator’s website.
