Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan called on Azerbaijan to continue the offensive in Nagorno-Karabakh until its triumphant conclusion.

“Azerbaijan has already liberated a large territory. I hope it will continue to fight until all its territories in Karabakh are liberated,” Erdogan said in a statement on Twitter, Sputnik reported.

The Turkish head of state stressed that Turkey supports “friendly and fraternal Azerbaijan in every possible way“and would continue to do so in the future.

Earlier today, in an interview with Globe and Mail, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said Turkey’s departure from the South Caucasus will be a necessary condition for peace in Nagorno-Karabakh.

Pashinyan added that now Turkey’s allies in NATO must explain why Ankara is involved in the conflict to Karabakh.

“Turkish military personnel and Turkish armed forces are directly involved in hostilities. Turkey’s NATO allies must explain why these F-16 (Turkish) fighters are bombing towns and villages in Nagorno-Karabakh and killing civilians.” He said.

Pashinyan suggested Western countries must rethink arms sales to Turkey in the context of the information that they are used by the Azerbaijani side in Nagorno Karabakh.
