Ivanka Agova, from the village of Stryama, known as the epicenter of the Richter earthquake of magnitude 4.5, told 24plovdiv.bg of this. It hit at 14.01.
Ivanka was in the grocery store when it crashed.
It was scary, says a Stream resident.
“There was a roar, then thunder and everything swayed: the bread slipped from the holder, the handkerchiefs and the lighter items fell,” described Ivanka’s experience. The village dogs went crazy, the cattle began to torment.
The store’s owner, Maria Stoyanova, says she has become accustomed to earthquakes because she has lived in Greece for 20 years.

Another vendor in downtown Stryama was outside when she heard the creaking of the building where the store was located. “I was afraid I wouldn’t fall because the building is old,” said the woman.
Petya Gieva, 23, from Stryam, was at her husband’s house in Rakovski when the ground moved. “We were rocking a lot. We were sitting with a girlfriend and my husband in the third-floor apartment. The glass table with the glasses was off to the side. Until we knew what was happening, it stopped,” he described. Petya claims that after the earthquake she panicked when she realized what had happened.
The village mayor Vasil Cherpeliev compared the sound of the earthquake to the explosion. Thank God there were no injuries, he was baptized.
