More about the subject

Premier League players must cover their faces as part of the new rules for a safe return to full training.

On Friday, Premier League clubs will discuss the restart of the project and the ways in which the season in England could be renewed. The proposals were submitted by Premier League football director Richard Garlik, but a return to training will only occur with government approval.

Plans include evaluating all players and referees 48 hours before returning to training, and they will also be evaluated for possible coronavirus-related respiratory problems.

Other suggestions include:

All soccer balls, beams, corner flags, and other equipment will be disinfected before and after use by personnel wearing personal protective equipment.

Players wear masks all the time

Cars must be parked in three spaces

No massages unless approved by the club doctor.

Liquids should be left in specific places.

Visit the training block just to go to the bathroom

Initially, five players per training group.

15 minute warm up time

75 minutes of small group training

15 minute recovery

Spitting on the field by players and staff is prohibited.

Clubs will also receive proposals to evaluate players and umpires at least twice a week, again with government approval. The proposals were submitted by the Prime Minister’s medical adviser, Dr. Marc Gillette, after close consultation with other European championships, including the League in Spain and the Bundesliga in Germany.

However, testing will only be carried out if it does not compromise the testing of health professionals during the COVID-19 pandemic. Tests will be paid for by the Premier League and privately insured so that they are not taken from the resources of the public health authorities. / BGNES
