Exactly at 8:00 p.m. the “Pirogov” team joined the joint initiative of the large metropolitan medical institutions to ask citizens to comply with the anti-epidemic measures.
Led by the hospital director, Prof. Asen Baltov, the emergency department doctors on duty stood at the main entrance with the lights on.
The lights on mobile phones symbolize the light that connects us in the difficult times of the COVID-19 epidemic.
“Behind every light are our families, relatives, as well as the thousands of people who have passed through hospital wards in the last month,” wrote Pirogov.
Participants in the action appeal to society: “Let’s help each other!”, Observing the recommendations of personal hygiene, restrictions on meetings and contacts inside, the strict use of masks, etc.
“TO STOP THE VIRUS! Observe the security measures!”, The doctors of the Military Medical Academy wrote on the Facebook page.
“Be Responsible – Protect yourself to protect others! Health is a core value, let’s preserve it! Both yours and ours! We risk our lives and those of our loved ones every day by exposing ourselves to infection! It is our duty!, Vocation, mission … But! You don’t have to take the Hippocratic oath to save a life … “
And we continue:
“HEAR US: Only responsible behavior will keep us healthy! Because COVID-19 is dangerous for everyone! WE BELIEVE that with joint efforts and a conscious attitude to the problem, we will also be able to overcome this challenge.”
And “Santa Ana” with a call for solidarity between doctors and society in the battle against COVID-19
Doctors and nurses met tonight in front of the Emergency Department of St. Anna Hospital in Sofia AD to carry out a spontaneous action in which solidarity between doctors and society is requested in the battle against COVID-19. They had also turned on the lights on their cell phones.
Participants in the action appealed to society to help each other, observing personal hygiene recommendations, restrictions on meetings and contacts indoors, as well as the strict use of masks. The importance of the so-called 3 “D” – Disinfection, Distance, Discipline was especially emphasized!
The doctors insisted that the society, which helps the Bulgarian healthcare, helps itself and that only with joint efforts will we conquer the infection. They said that in the first 12 hours of the day alone, more than 20 patients with symptoms of COVID-19 were examined in the hospital’s Emergency Department.
In the middle of the action, an ambulance arrived with a patient who had a stroke just 30 minutes ago.
A team was immediately formed to bring the patient to thrombolysis.
