Elite Australian soldiers have killed civilians in Afghanistan

There is “credible evidence” that elite Australian soldiers committed war crimes during the war in Afghanistan, the BBC reported, citing a new report.

Special Forces of the Australian Armed Forces killed civilians. 39 people were reported to have died. The Australian Defense Forces have announced the results of a four-year investigation into misconduct by their forces.

The report says that 19 current and former soldiers should be investigated by the police for the killings of prisoners, farmers and civilians between 2009 and 2013. More than 400 witnesses were questioned during the Australian Armed Forces investigation.

In some cases, the Australian military has been cruel to its victims. The report is extremely worrying and experts say that troops sent to Afghanistan have lost their “moral compass” in horrific killings.
