The protesters booed and fired at the Speaker of the National Assembly, Tsveta Karayancheva, who arrived in Blagoevgrad on Tuesday for a party meeting. She went to the protesters with the intention of talking to them, but gave up after the eggs flew towards her. The protesters were lined up in T-shirts reading “Resignation” and zinc buckets on their heads, an indication of Karayancheva’s previous work at a galvanized bucket factory.
“I wanted to meet with these people, talk, ask them why they want to quit and tell them what we have done, but apparently there is no desire to talk,” Karayancheva told reporters after the guards surrounded her and protected her from the eggs.
“We have raised salaries, pensions, by 30% the salaries of the administration. In general, we have something to say,” he added.
Karayancheva said she did not regret her words at a party gathering in Lom a few days ago. Then she said:
“Some people ride in nice cars on Borisov roads, they shout ‘Don’t get up’, well why didn’t you do it when they don’t get up, but they criticize? The subway: they are going to protest against the bad Boyko and go Well, go on foot, walk, so that we do not resign ourselves because we are responsible for what we do. “
Karayancheva explained that her speech in front of the asset was emotional and she spoke there as a party member to convey the energy of all “members and supporters.” She clarified that as Speaker of Parliament she speaks differently and no such language would be allowed.
