An SUV driver driving tourists through the Rila Park territory passed through the legs of a policeman during an organized inspection this morning, announced the press center of the Prosecutor’s Office.
Preliminary proceedings have started at the Dupnitsa District Prosecutor’s Office. In the inspections for unregulated traffic, agents of the Economic and Security Police participated, as well as the State Automobile Inspection. On August 13, the Minister of Environment and Water, Emil Dimitrov, banned access to cars, both within the Rila National Park and in the lower part of the mountain, which are within the Natura 2000 area known as Rila Buffer. . The minister’s order prohibits the transport of tourists to the lakes in off-road vehicles outside the “official roads”.

The prosecution also announced that joint inspections of commercial sites began today on the territory of the town of Dupnitsa and the surrounding settlements. Employees of the National Revenue Agency, the General Labor Inspectorate, the Economic Police and the Fire Department participate in the inspections. They are a continuation of Chief Prosecutor Ivan Geshev’s commitment to prevent violations of the law on the territory of the municipality.
