Drastic jump in fuel prices in our country. Experts report a record price increase in the last six months.

The data from the Fuelo.net site shows that only during the last half of the year the price of gasoline has risen the most: 23 stotinki. To date, an average liter sells for BGN 2.02. The price of diesel has also risen 22 cents. In third place is propane butane with 21 cents.

In the last six months, the most popular gasoline has risen almost 13%. Experts point to the price of crude oil as a reason for both its price rise and diesel.

There is an increase of approximately 11-12% depending on the type of fuel. It is entirely due to crude oil, there are no other factors, you know that during the last three months crude oil has risen from $ 35 to $ 70 a barrel, explained Svetoslav Benchev of the Bulgarian Oil and Gas Association.

“The factors that have been influencing lately are foreign policy. Several consecutive OPEC decisions on yield capping. China is a pretty big customer, replenishing its reserves and buying a lot of oil, ” Georgi Tanev from the Bulgarian Fuel Traders Association explained to Nova TV.

A-95 gasoline gets more expensive

According to him, one could not speak of a new price jump. Fuels reached the values of the period prior to the occurrence of the coronavirus.

By the end of this month we expect to reach about 2.10 and gasoline and diesel gas will remain more or less at their current level, Tanev said.

“I personally think that by the end of the month the oil exchange rate will go down, because I think it is at very high values at the moment,” Benchev said.

Driving school prices are going up

Domestic market factors will also influence the price of gasoline and diesel for the summer.

Increase in consumption with the start of the tourist season. The vaccination process itself is progressing, which implies a relaxation of the measures, commented Georgi Tanev.

“We certainly don’t expect a 20 cent increase until early summer, it all depends on the price of crude. If it holds at current values, there may be an increase by a few cents, but nothing drastic will happen, ” Benchev said.
