BTV expects a drastic drop in prices for seaside vacations from early September. Experts in the tourism industry look forward to a long summer season, until the end of October.
However, there are different opinions on the matter, as the main core of seaside vacationers this year are Bulgarian tourists. Big hotels certainly won’t be able to extend the season, but smaller ones on the southern Black Sea coast are still hopeful. The price reduction is an individual commercial policy, but there are already packages announced for September with discounts between 20 and 40% in 3- and 4-star hotels.
Full beach and full hotels – this is the situation at the moment south of Bourgas. However, the emptying of the spas begins abruptly with the beginning of September. “Interest in the holidays has started after September 10, but I can’t say it is something ‘wow’ that will shape our month as a good month for the holidays,” said Petya Krasnogorska, manager of a hotel in Sozopol. In this hotel they expect a longer season, but they do not commit to the forecasts.
“After the active season, we have prepared packages that have discounts for 3 nights in the range of 20-25%, when it is for 5 nights or more in the range of 30 to 40%,” added Petya Krasnogorska. There are additional discounts for guests of retirement age. “Bulgarians tend to rest in September, but this is a very small percentage, that is, this extension would not save tourism in the country,” said Deliana Tsoneva, from the Bulgarian Chamber of Tourism in Pomorie.
“It can only be extended until the end of October thanks to the Bulgarian guests. Big hotels like this are mostly dependent on flights, and there will hardly be such a month in October,” explained Lubo Lipchev, manager of the chain. of hotels in Nessebar. Only a third of the big hotels in the Sunny Beach and Nessebar area opened this season. Much of the tourism industry expects autumn at sea to be golden. The profile of tourists in this period is that of families with their own businesses, who are not affected by holidays.
