A Bulgarian connection also emerged in the investigation into the death of Diego Maradona. Dr. Pablo Dimitrov, director of the Olivos Clinic, where the legend’s brain surgery was performed, is also under investigation. Until now, prosecutors have been investigating the surgeon who removed the subdural hematoma, Leopordo Luque, and the psychiatrist Augustina Kosachov.
Dr. Dimitrov is undoubtedly the heir to the Bulgarian emigrants, because that is how they write their names to this day. He signed the document with which Maradona was discharged from the hospital. The other signatures are from Leopolde Luque and the daughters of 1986 world champion Janina and Hannah.
However, the document in question indicates that the Olivos Clinic did not release Maradona because he was ready to be discharged, but because that was the wish of his family. The medical institution recommends that the soccer legend’s treatment be continued in a sanatorium. Don Diego spent the first week after the brain operation in such a specialized institution “Swiss Medical”.
The family said they had provided everything necessary for Diego Maradona to be under medical supervision. Therefore, the authorities are now verifying if there was any control over the subsequent treatment of Maradona or if there was negligence.
