“The easy way, Snezhina Tankovska. We will miss you very much!” With these words the Union of Bulgarian Artists announced the death of the director and teacher Prof. Snezhina Tankovska. He died at age 70.

Snezhina Tankovska was born on February 23, 1951 in Sofia. He graduated in directing with Prof. Encho Halachev at VITIZ “Krastyo Sarafov” in 1973. The same year he debuted with the production of “Mirandolina” by K. Goldoni at the Dramatic Theater – Sliven. In the period 1977-87 he was a professor at VITIZ; in 1987 he was director of the Educational Dramatic Theater of VITIZ; from 1993 to 2000 he was deputy director of NATFA; in 1999 he obtained the scientific degree of professor; Dean of the Faculty of Performing Arts in 2001 and of the Summer Courses of the University of London from 1992 to 1993; graduated from the Marcel Hikter Arts Project Management Program in 2000.

Professor Snezhina Tankovska is a long-time pedagogue at the National Academy of Theater and Cinematographic Arts “Krastyo Sarafov” in acting and directing classes for dramatic theater. His students were Joana Bukovska, Slav Boychev (artistic director and director of the Schools of Acting – MONTFIZ), Irina Parvanova-Rashi and others. Prof. Tankovska has various specializations in the field of performing arts at GITIS, Moscow (1975), University of London (1992-1993), participated in ELIA seminars on project management in the field of culture, Amsterdam (1995 ), has a European Diploma in cultural project management (2000).

It also participates in important international theater congresses, symposia and festivals in the United States, Spain, Finland, Greece, Switzerland, Austria, Cyprus, France, Portugal, Romania and others. He is a member of the Board and Executive Committee of the European League of Art Institutes for 6 years, as well as the International Theater Institute and the Union of Artists of Bulgaria.
