Director of Emergencies: Of 66 ambulance calls yesterday, 48 were unnecessary – Hospitals

Yesterday we had 66 home visits, of which 80% had a proven coronavirus infection. Of these 66 people, only 18 had to be hospitalized. It was not necessary to send an ambulance for the other 48 people, but they still asked a man in a white apron for an ambulance. Here we are talking about the subjective assessment of the patient, who wants to hear that his condition is not so bad. This was shared with journalists by the director of the Emergency Medical Aid Center in Sofia, Dr. Georgi Gelev, reported a reporter from Novini.bg.

When asked how it is understood which patient is in the severity of the condition, Dr. Gelev replied that this became clear after a conversation with the triage.

If the patient’s condition is mild to moderate, an unequipped car will be shipped. If his condition is judged more serious, our ambulance will be dispatched with a team of ambulances, he said.
