Bedo Manukyan was born in 1952 in the family of operetta actors Seta and Shavarsh Manukyan. In 1966 he emigrated with his parents to America. There he studied directing and production at the prestigious University of California (UCLA) and made a career in Hollywood, having previously been a boy for everything.
He returned to democratic Bulgaria for the first time in 1991, when he came to Bulgaria as co-producer and co-director of the film “Chickpeas”. He met director Ivanka Grubcheva, who invited Manukyan to consult the post-production of the feature film dedicated to the banker Atanas Burov – “The Draw”. Some time ago he participated in the series “Tree of life”. He finally returned to his homeland in 2005. It was at this time that he became Francis Ford Coppola’s representative for Bulgaria, who filmed the movie “Youth without Youth” in Romania.
