A travel agency bus with 30 passengers attempted an excursion to the Rila Monastery. The trip was organized despite the fact that the Ministry of Health prohibited these types of activities. However, what happened and was the trip made after a NOVA team contacted the institutions?
Although excursions and visits to tourist sites in the country are prohibited until November 30, the departure time of the bus with tourists is at 7.30 from the “Serdika” bus station in Sofia. However, the flight stopped behind the bus station and the sign says random transport.

The inspection was carried out by an expert from the Ministry of Tourism, the police and the municipality of Sofia. And it caused tension among those who wanted to travel.
“The prohibition will not save us from the disease. You are making us stumble here. Every time we have gone on a trip for years, with this company and I have not had any problems. Who is sick, what to expect, what to do” the passengers.
“I don’t think that the fact that people don’t follow the regulations of this company is a protest. It doesn’t bother me at all. This gives us a breath of fresh air. To be able to continue working and living, ”said another passenger.
Eventually the trip had to be canceled. The company was adamant about the institutions that they were not aware of the ban. However, they stated that all security measures were observed.
“This is a day trip with a visit to the Stob pyramids and the Rila Monastery, which is a natural outdoor phenomenon,” said company representative Albena Minkovska.
Since the introduction of the ban by order of the Minister on October 27, this is the first inspection of the competent institutions.

“So far we have not received another signal for violations under the orders of the Minister of Health, this is the first time he has actually contacted us. The Ministry of Tourism is not a competent body to carry out inspections. The competent body is a consumer protection commission, the health authorities and the bodies of the Ministry of the Interior ”, says Eleonora Mladenova, Head of the Department of Regulation of Tourist Sites of the Ministry of Tourism.
The travel agency inspection continues. Today, offenders were ordered to follow the orders of the Minister of Health.
