Therefore, today Belarus was the only country in the world to hold a military parade on May 9.
WHO has called on Belarus to tighten measures against coronavirus
More than 3,000 soldiers marched in Minsk on Saturday to mark the 75th anniversary of the Soviet Union’s victory over Nazi Germany during World War II.
Crowds of spectators, including war veterans, watched the parade, which included around 150 vehicles and 40 planes.
Belarus annoyed by “decree against parasites” again
Lukashenko addressed the crowd, criticizing proposals to cancel the event due to the pandemic.
“In today’s crazy and disoriented world, there will be people who will condemn us for the time and place of this sacred act,” said Lukashenko.
“I would like to tell you: do not rush to conclusions and do not condemn us, descendants of the Belarusian victory. We simply could not act otherwise. We have no other choice. And even if we had one, we would do the same.”
We celebrate Europe day
On Saturday, officially registered cases of coronavirus in Belarus exceeded 20,000. 121 died, with a population of approximately 9.5 million. However, many foreign experts, including Russians, are skeptical of the statistics.
