Desi Banova Talks About Her Divorce From Plevneliev Just One Day After Shocking “News”

She is known even before meeting her husband, President Rosen Plevneliev (2012-2017). She entered television in the mid-1990s, going through various shows and televisions before becoming a presenter on Nova TV. Desi Banova is very excited about the weather issue, she makes movies about it, participates in conferences. He is a frequent hero in the yellow columns of gossip magazines, and after his wedding to Plevneliev, shocking news was written about the two of them. The last came on Friday, when a very yellow weekly appeared on the cover with the news that the two were about to get divorced because they were having difficulties in the marriage. This is what Banova said to “24 Chasa”:

– Are you really divorcing your husband, Mrs. Plevnelieva, as a big yellow weekly writes on its front page?

– I’m definitely not surprised by this news. We are together, we raise our children together, we love each other, we support each other and there is not a grain of truth in what they say. Once again, we intend to seek our rights for this falsehood. We will file a lawsuit for defamation and moral damages. We are demanding several posts and have won them all so far, for which I am grateful to our attorney Joro Ignatov. We are determined to reach the end of this battle.

There were also fair means, which after the judicial decision issued the amounts requested for compensation. All this money we will donate to charity. But it turns out that the largest yellow tabloids are like pyramids and cannot be touched financially.

To do this, an amazing plan has been devised. That is why we have decided to contact the Public Prosecutor’s Office, the Economic Police and the Minister of Culture to find out who the real owners of these publications are. It turns out that they move to different companies so that they cannot be reached in any way. These publications were the only ones that did not appeal the court’s decision. We convict them in the first instance for the full amount of compensation; it was clear that they had written lies and lies. They did not appeal because they knew they could not be affected. This time we are determined to go all the way, to declare them bankrupt. We are initiating such a case, which will probably surprise the owners of these media. Many celebrities have reached the stage where they have condemned a post, but cannot accept their compensation. We will use all instances to claim our rights.

– You have been a public figure for a long time. And before you married President Plevneliev, the news about you appeared again in the yellow media. How do you feel about that, now you had to explain to your relatives, to your children not to believe the lies there?

“It’s not nice”. Both we and the children are affected, which is why we are fighting these lawsuits. It is time for real news to be written in our country. I have nothing against tabloids, but let them follow the basic rules of journalism: check their news. I realize that the personal lives of popular people are interesting to some, but please post information that is true, verified!

I am shocked by the news that emerged. We live in a closed community and every day so many people see my husband and me that we are together, walking, holding hands, walking with the children. I can’t even understand the reason for this news.

– What are you doing now?

– Unfortunately, instead of talking about meaningful and meaningful things, now we have to explain ourselves about personal things. My husband and I are involved in many charitable causes. One of them is helping 3 couples with reproductive problems and we wait and wait for good news from them. We went to the I Want a Baby Foundation and they helped us choose the specific partners, raising a sum of money for those couples who have already made several attempts to have a child, but without success.

My husband and I also support talented students. I am also behind the cause “Your future is here, success is in Bulgaria”, which aims to keep young people in Bulgaria. I am on the board of directors of this campaign and the reason for inviting me is the good stories of successful Bulgarians that I showed in We want to show young people that our country is a wonderful place, maybe we should travel to realize that we have a unique nature Young, creative and talented people, and if they stay here, they can achieve many things.

We have not stopped being active for a second. My husband started a new project, which I help him with. It is under the auspices of Tony Blair. It’s called Improvate, which comes from two words in English: improve and innovate. This will be a project related to education, economics, etc.

In addition, the Solutions for the Future Foundation of my husband has new projects that we want to implement, perhaps we will resume their project “Dialogue with citizens.

Unfortunately, due to the coronavirus crisis, a wonderful initiative was stopped. Thanks to her, we were in the United States twice last year, both on the East Coast and the West Coast. It’s called RE: TURN. Thanks to her, we had meetings with the Bulgarian communities there. Many people were very grateful because they understood how many new things are happening in Bulgaria. Some who were in the balance of returning to our country actually did. Others decided to donate their time and money to support various initiatives in Bulgaria. Some of them, for example, made offices here. Others said they would help the students by sharing their experiences of all that they had accomplished. It turned out that many of these people love our country and want to help it in every way. Now we had to visit Chicago and Toronto, but due to the situation with COVID-19 the trip was postponed.

– A few years ago, you made your own film about the impact of climate change on the natural and cultural heritage of Bulgaria, which is under the protection of UNESCO. Are you still worried about weather problems?

– Yes. I was invited to visit Darmstadt, Germany, in June, again at a climate conference. Although I no longer present the forecast and do not do reports and films on climate change, I am still invited and this makes me very happy. I really accepted the issue for my sake. I endorse this very important and sadly underrated topic. But again, due to the pandemic, the conference has been postponed to next year and I hope it will take place.

– Do you miss television?

– My maternity is over and I am currently on leave because I want to spend most of my time with my son and daughter. Life and health, I plan to reappear on the screen. I guess this will happen in a few months. I still can’t say for sure, but my thoughts are moving in that direction.

– How old are your children now?

– Our son turned two ten years ago, my daughter is 9 years old, Rosen’s oldest son is 19 and the other will turn 14 in a few days. In total, there are 4 children at home and none of us are bored.

– How do they all understand each other? Are all four of them different ages?

– I am very happy, because somehow we managed to find a common path between us. I am happy that we help each other, we support each other, we have dinner together, we share with everyone what happened to them. I am happy for our great family.

– Do older children help take care of the little ones?

– Yes. Even now we are going to be in Assaloniki for a wedding one weekend, God forbid all is well. And the elders said that they would help my mother a lot to take care of the little thief. (Laughs) Now he’s in the hardest age, when you can’t just leave him alone for a second. He touches everywhere, opens where he shouldn’t, and therefore regularly scatters textbooks in his poop. He has some problems every day, but that is his job now: to target.

– Do you talk at home about politics or, like most families, about more common things of the day?

– It seems that we talk a little more about politics than in most families. My husband is still quite active, he is very interested in what is happening, he reads a lot not only in our media, but also in foreign publications. He often participates in various international conferences, they are now online due to the coronavirus pandemic. Before we got together, I wasn’t so interested in politics. But besides him, I’m much more excited for her. The focus is now on the debate over whether Donald Trump or Joe Biden will win the presidential election and what will happen in the United States. In a few hours, my husband will participate in an online conference about Nagorno-Karabakh and the complex situation there.

Keep doing everything you can to be helpful, like knowledge, experience, contacts. He even tends to joke that the situation he finds himself in now is much more comfortable for him, because he is far from the great media noise and the epicenter of the news, but he manages to be useful.

– Do you have so much work time for the children?

– Yes, I am very grateful that he helps a lot and that he is such a loving father. Most often, games are organized at home, in which the main character is him, all the children participate. Pillow fight, motorcycle game, the madhouse is full, but I’m very happy. I have always said that there is nothing better than the laughter of children. I have come to terms with the fact that our house cannot be tidy up for a long time, and I prefer this to a house that is empty and quiet. I am grateful to God for every second with this family.
