Earlier today, the dissidents began to gather after 5 pm in front of the Presidency building. On the occasion of the Bulgarian Independence Day, the protest began with the Bulgarian anthem. Traffic was blocked on Tsar Osvoboditel Boulevard and the police presence in the Triangle of Power was intensified.
There are checkpoints in the area where law enforcement officers thoroughly search the protesters’ personal luggage. Police officers in anti-conflict vests guard the National Assembly building.
Some of the protesters, led by BOEC, broke away from the crowd and marched and blocked Eagle Bridge shortly after 8:40 p.m.
