Day 115: Protest with pumpkins and appeals

For the 115th day in a row, a protest was held in Sofia on Saturday night, demanding the resignation of the government and Attorney General Ivan Geshev.

Shortly before 7 pm, in their usual place, the protesters threw a truck with pumpkins into the so-called “triangle of power” in front of the Council of Ministers and the former Party House and announced “Let’s cook Boyko.”

In front of a large pile of pumpkins is placed the largest and most mature pumpkin with feathers, symbolizing an Indian chief. There are also sticks on site, on which other pumpkins are cut.

The idea of the “Poison Trio” at the protest tonight was to give all those dissatisfied with the government and with the spirit of Halloween a chance to show creativity. They can carve a message on the yellow fruits or sculpt the sculptor from them.

On some pumpkins, the protesters pasted the face of Prime Minister Boyko Borissov, and on others they posted notes with the names of the mayor of Sofia, Yordanka Fandakova, Speaker of the Parliament Tsveta Karayancheva, Ministers Temenuzhka Petkova, Mariana Nikolova, Kiril Ananiev, Denitsa Sacheva and other cabinet representatives. .

There are more pumpkins on the steps in front of the old Party House, and there are photos of MPs on them.

The protesters handed out plastic pumpkin-shaped hats to citizens.

Anyone who wants can take the yellow fruit home and cook it.
