Day 110: Eyebrows, resign!

The 110th night of the anti-government protest passed calmly and without incident, Bulgarian National Radio reported.

Those present demanded the resignation of the president of the Parliamentary Committee on Culture, Vezhdi Rashidov, and called for unity against the ruling party.

The demonstration ended with the traditional procession to Eagle Bridge.

The situation was calm, but those present were still dissatisfied.

The protest was supported by older people.

They held up a banner with the inscription “Enough of the retirement misery” and expressed their outrage at the BGN 50 bonus, which does not help them cope with the feeling of doom.

“Pension of 212 leva, my son has been feeding me for years from abroad.”

“These 50 cams do not solve anything. “It was necessary to make a reform and Borissov had to do it after ruling for a longer time,” said the participants in the demonstration.

“A true artist who insists on his moral right to give beauty to the world, whether he is a sculptor, poet, director, must have a sense of what pollutes an institution or a building. I would say that Vezhdi Rashidov should think less about his money at the Corporate Commercial Bank and think at least for a moment whether the buildings he speaks of are not contaminated from within by his fellow party members. Are they not stained with corruption, with ladybugs? It seems that Mr. Rashidov does not see this filth. “This was stated by Arman Babikyan in his speech from the protest platform.

The reason for Babikyan’s words was the interview of the former Minister of Culture and current president of the Parliament’s Culture Commission to one of the national media yesterday, in which he said that protesters who throw eggs should be fined.

His resignation was also demanded by the defense of Prime Minister Borissov in the television interview, as well as by his dismissive attitude towards the intellectuals who signed the declaration in support of the protest.

The protesters congratulated on Saint Dimitrov’s Day and recalled that it is a day of retribution and they expect retribution soon with the current government.

There have been allegations that the government is taking advantage of the situation around the Covid crisis for its own purposes, as well as calls for unity from the left and right.

Early yesterday, mothers of children with disabilities protested in front of the Ministry of Social Affairs against the proposed changes in the Personal Assistance Law.
