Today is the 100th day of protests against the government, announced by the organizers as the fifth “Great Uprising of the People.”

The situation in the area of the presidency is calm. Police presence has increased. There are people from different cities in the country, reports BNR.

Traffic on Tsar Osvoboditel Blvd. is blocked. It was redirected in both directions along Dondukov Boulevard.

There are two parallel stands at the event. The students from the University of Sofia arrived with their sound equipment and speakers around 6:30 pm In front of the presidency is the point of the so-called “Poison Trio”.

The event is still based on the scale to see the desire of the people of Bulgaria to defend democratic values. According to those present, the protests should make the Bulgarian problems in Europe visible. Messages from four foreign MEPs are also expected to be sent today.

One of them, Ivan Sincic from Croatia, said that he had come to tell the Bulgarians that they were not alone and that Europe supported them. According to him, corruption is not only in Bulgaria, but also in Croatia. “I want to tell you that corruption must stop everywhere,” he said, adding: “You must not stop,” he urged the protesters, adding that “whoever stands last will win.”

The Dutch MEP Paul Tang addressed the people in the square with the words that corruption prevents them from living in freedom and with the truth and following the ideals they have shared with their families. “If you get in the way, get out,” he urged.

The member of the Progressive Alliance of Socialists and Democrats recalled that a few days ago the European Parliament supported the right of the Bulgarian people to protest in defense of the rule of law and added that MEPs in turn help prevent EU funds from falling in the pockets of corrupt politicians and oligarchs.

He also highlighted the role of some media, which “instead of listening to the voice of the people, they follow the government and prefer the version of the oligarchs and the corrupt.”

People in the square say that any delay in the resignation of the prime minister is a disadvantage for him, as trust in him has fallen.

Yesterday from the so-called The “Poison Trio” announced that the participation of four foreign MEPs is expected in the events.
