CSKA coach Stamen Belchev may resort to a curious move in his quest to fix problems in the team’s attack.
He is considering inviting legend Petar Zhekov to help him with only one specific thing: making attackers more precise, writes “Match Telegraph.” As is known, the attacking players of the “Army” and especially Ali Sow are constantly in goal positions, but their success is quite poor.
This was also seen in the derby with Ludogorets. Bulgarian soccer knows no bigger goalscorer than Zhekov, who has 253 goals in group “A” and won the “Golden Boot” of Europe in 1969. Belchev and Zhekov have excellent relations.
The first is originally from Haskovo, and the legend is from the local town of Knizhovnik. Last week, Zhekov was in Pancharevo to support the team before important duels with BATE Borisov and Ludogorets.
Along with him were other great “reds”: Dimitar Penev, Georgi Velinov, Plamen Markov and Dimitar Yakimov. They were also in the lodge of the Bulgarian army.
