This afternoon, hundreds of tourists from all over the country took to the cobbled streets of the old town. A variety of dialects came from the Three Hills, but the dialect of Sofia dominated them all.
Visitors enjoyed the views of the warm weather and welcomed the stoically closed Renaissance restaurants, galleries, museums, and houses.
“We decided with the whole family to visit the most interesting places in southern Bulgaria during the four weekends. We couldn’t miss Plovdiv, “said Hristo Semerdzhiev from Silistra.
A group of tourists from Japan studied Renaissance architecture with interest and did not forget to take pictures in front of almost all the old houses.
Dozens clung to the fence of the Ancient Theater to see the marble arena built in the 1st century AD.
The old theater, as well as all other sites in “Old Plovdiv”, will open their doors for visits on Monday in strict compliance with anti-epidemiological measures.
Most of the people gathered near the ruins of the ancient fortress of Nebet Tepe. People were sunbathing and taking in the picturesque sights of the European Capital of Culture.
