The authorities of the Republic of North Macedonia have decided to introduce a crisis situation in the territory of the country to protect public health in the conditions of a COVID-19 pandemic, reported the newspaper “Sloboden Pechat”, referring to the service of government press.
The period of the crisis situation on the territory of North Macedonia is 30 days. The government will inform the president and the speaker of parliament about this decision. The RSM government has proposed to the country’s president to decide on the participation of part of the army to face the crisis.
The Government has decided that the General Staff of the Crisis Management Center will immediately begin to prepare an action plan for the prevention and control of the spread of COVID-19, as well as a complete review of the available human and logistical resources and a plan. for coordinated action.
The government also decided that the Ministry of the Interior, Defense, Health, Army, the Crisis Management Center and the Protection and Rescue Directorate would contribute all their capacities and resources to face the crisis situation. There have been more than 50,000 people infected in North Macedonia since the start of the coronavirus pandemic.
