Bulgaria’s immunization plan modeled after Italy, France, Germany, England and the USA.
The first are 243,000 doctors, pharmacists, dentists, nurses and orderlies
No prior testing will be required – vaccines cannot harm you, even if you are currently ill
There will be 5 phases of the vaccination program against COVID-19, which will aim to cover 75% of the population so that a more serious immunity can be built and society can be protected.
For this, the country will be divided into 6 regions, and in each one of them there will be a person in charge who performs the logistics together with the Headquarters of the National Coordination.
The national vaccination plan against COVID-19 was presented by Health Minister Prof. Kostadin Angelov on Friday, as soon as it was adopted by the Council of Ministers.
This is version 1 and in case of changes in facts or circumstances around the vaccines themselves, the plan will be updated, said Professor Angelov. It is prepared according to the instructions of the World Health Organization and modeled on the plans of Italy, France, Germany, England and the state of Illinois in the United States.
243,600 physicians, healthcare professionals (nurses, nurses, paramedics, obstetricians, etc.), dentists, pharmacists, auxiliary pharmacists and medical support personnel will be the first to be vaccinated.
They are in the first wave Considering that, once immunized and adequately protected against diseases,
they will be
included in
vaccination
of the following
groups
Social housing workers and consumers, teachers and other pedagogical specialists, as well as those who work on mink farms, or a total of 112,080 people, are the priority group in the second phase vaccination in our country.
The reason that people on mink farms “rearrange” adults is that the risk of infection from these animals is high, and so far no mink and sick workers have been found on farms in our country.
Police officers, firefighters and other employees of the system of the Ministry of the Interior and state security, energy and other key sectors for the operation of the state will be covered in the third stage. They will be
determined
by lists
and therefore their number is not yet clear.
IN the fourth stage It includes people over the age of 65 and people with chronic diseases, who number 1.8 million.
The fifth target group they will be vulnerable groups whose population and lifestyle are at high risk of coronavirus infection.
The division of the regions is as follows:
District 1 – the districts of Vidin, Montana and Vratsa with the RHI in charge – Vratsa;
district 2 – Pleven, Lovech, Gabrovo, Veliko Tarnovo and Ruse with the director of RHI – Veliko Tarnovo;
district 3 – Razgrad, Targovishte, Shumen, Varna and Dobrich with the head of RHI – Varna;
district 4 – city of Sofia, region of Sofia, Pernik, Kyustendil and Blagoevgrad with RHI – city of Sofia;
district 5 – Pazardzhik, Smolyan, Plovdiv, Stara Zagora, Haskovo and Kardzhali with the director of RHI – Plovdiv;
district 6 – Sliven, Yambol and Burgas with RHI – Burgas.
For the moment
there is no exact
schedule
for implementation
in the plan
and for the coverage of people in the different stages, because the vaccines themselves have not yet been authorized by the European regulator EMA.
No one can guarantee exactly when it will happen, and this is a condition for them to be implemented.
“It is not clear at this time which vaccine will arrive and when. They may arrive between the second and third trimesters of next year.
5-6 vaccines
and quantity
right away
The entire vaccination process will depend on what we have at the moment, “explained the Chief of State Health Inspectors, Prof. Angel Kunchev. In the next stage, a unit will be established at headquarters to provide guidance on which vaccine to which group is appropriate to recommend for people to make an informed decision.
Any Bulgarian who wishes will receive a vaccination free of charge,
Even if not
paid health
Social Security
Immunization of each of the target groups will be carried out according to a pre-prepared list of doctors in hospitals, pre-hospital care, RHI, Ministry of the Interior.
Once each vaccine has been approved by the European Medicines Agency, its characteristics will be judged on which one is more suitable for whom and under what conditions it should not be administered. The assessment of this will depend on the doctor who will perform the immunization, such as
placement
of the vaccine
of doctors
will happen in
hospitals, and
pharmacists and
dentists –
of your staff
The doctors or RHI, as well as the mobile teams, will be the people who will place the vaccines in the other priority groups.
Vaccination of people with active infection will not cause any problems, said Associate Professor Kunchev. Therefore, no preliminary tests will be required, but if a person decides, they can.
“The fact that you are in the incubation period and you are going to be vaccinated will not lead to anything worse. He will be inclined to explain the reasons for his illness to the vaccine in a purely psychological way. This cannot be avoided and is present in other vaccines ”, he explained.
There was still no answer to the question of whether
the sick
the virus too
must be
vaccinate,
but according to Kunchev, this was appropriate.
Yesterday began the installation of the special refrigerators in the state company BulBio and the capital RHI, which will take the first batches of the Pfizer vaccine, which is expected on New Year’s Eve and requires storage at -70 °, and on Saturday the other two should have arrived to Burgas. Hospitals with virology laboratories must prepare them to receive future quantities of the different vaccines. Prepared vaccines can be stored for up to 5 days in a normal refrigerator.
A week after the measures, the first district, Kardzhali, moved into the orange zone.
Kardzhali is the first district in our country in which a week after the tightening of the measures, the incidence dropped. Out of a population of more than 120 per 100,000, it is now between 60 and 119, making the district the first to leave the red zone and move into the orange zone.
This was announced by the Head of State Health Inspectors, Prof. Angel Kunchev, at the briefing of the Ministry of Health on Friday.
“There are early positive changes, but they are few and far between it is too early to rejoice. “ He said, adding that the situation in the country is different, citing the Gabrovo region, where the incidence is 11 times higher than in Kardzhali.
Over the past 14 days, Bulgaria has dropped in morbidity in the EU, from 11th to 12th place, falling below 600 per 100,000 for the first time in weeks. In terms of mortality, however, we remain first.
In two of the districts, Shumen and Yambol, bed occupancy remains high. In Shumen it is 98% and in Yambol it is 89%, added the Minister of Health, Prof. Kostadin Angelov. In November, however, it was even higher, there we also see a decrease, he explained.
Pharmacists with the right to immunize the world, in our country the law still does not allow
After it became clear that the pharmacists of our country will be immunized in phase 1 of the plan, theoretically the question arises as to whether this means that they will be able to take part of the citizens’ vaccines when the priority groups pass and anyone will also have access. to prevention against COVID. In some countries around the world, customers can get a flu shot at pharmacies for years. This significantly alleviates pre-hospital care.
Given the details of the new vaccine
at the beginning of the process
this will not be possible,
as storage conditions are required. In addition, as the Minister of Health Prof. Kostadin Angelov has already explained, a doctor must assess the condition of the person and only then give him the vaccine, and the jeep knows his patients better and would guide them in choosing a vaccine when already there is one available. .
Vaccination by pharmacists in pharmacies is not legally allowed at this stage. According to the plan, immunizations will be carried out by doctors from pre-hospital care and hospitals, RHI, in the special structures of the Ministry of the Interior and the Ministry of Defense and by specially created mobile teams.
However, with the spread of the infection, which is the hope of the world with the gradual start of mass vaccination, it is possible that pharmacists will be trained and administer some of the next types of vaccines, whose approval is expected in early of 2021.
The pharmacy is the most accessible medical specialist, said a few days ago in an interview with “24 Hours” the president of the Union of Pharmacists Prof. Asena Serbezova about the expansion of pharmaceutical care in Bulgaria. The world is already using this in the pandemic, he said: pharmacists in many countries have expanded their powers and in our country they have limited rights to dispense drugs to their counterparts in the EU, he explained. For example
in the US the pharmacy will apply
vaccinations in patients older than 3 years
against COVID-19, which are approved by the FDA.
Even before the pandemic, Irish pharmacists had the right to vaccinate the population, and now the places where this can happen have expanded: homes, workplaces, community centers and even cars. Now, with legislative changes, the primary health care units, which are currently dedicated to vaccination, will be relieved, the professor describes the experience of other countries.
As part of a 2017 pilot project, pharmacists in Norway also received the right to administer flu vaccines, meaning that 900 pharmacies will be ready to administer COVID-19 vaccines. In Ottawa, Canada, people who are asymptomatic but want to get tested for COVID-19 can do so at pharmacies.
“The state should consider pharmacies as sanitary facilities, as they are by law,” the director of the professional organization is convinced. At this stage, however, no preliminary discussions have been held with representatives of pharmacists for their possible conduct of vaccinations against COVID in Bulgaria in the next phases of the process.
