COVID-19: How will the educational process continue at the 55th Sofia University “Petko Karavelov” in Sofia?

More than 40 students from Stara Zagora are in quarantine due to their classmate testing positive. The situation is similar in Ruse, after it became clear yesterday that a 16-year-old high school math student has a coronavirus. In Lovech with the infection she is a second grade teacher; He was not in contact with the children, but he met with his colleagues.

After the complete disinfection of the building this morning, classes at the capital’s school 55 started as scheduled.

“What is reassuring for all parents is that our employees and teachers currently working in the building have negative CRP tests,” said 55th Sofia University “Petko Karavelov” director Sofia Tanya Ivancheva.

Most parents have admitted that they are concerned about the situation, but they will not prevent their children from going to school.

“This is not something unexpected. It was just clear that when we started to bring so many people together in one place, no matter how many measures there are and to separate them, there is always a risk,” said Doncho Angelov.

“All children want to go back to school and have a normal learning process,” said Nelly Mihaylova.

According to the teachers, there is no way to reach a new case of infection. “The students do not have much contact with each other as a result of the divergent movements created and the divergent ruptures. Each student knows what range he is in, the windows open. We have no worries,” noted Nikolina Petrova.

Contact children will return to classrooms on Monday if their tests are negative.

In Stara Zagora, a language high school student tested positive after being tested for an upcoming trip abroad. I was at school on September 15th. “39 contact students will be quarantined today. RHI assured us that it is not necessary to quarantine teachers. We follow absolutely all measures against the epidemic. Teachers wear protective masks and helmets, and the distance is observed,” he said. Romain Rolland Secondary School Principal Teodora Nikolova.

Valchev: 10-15 teachers and students per day will test positive for COVID-19

Education Minister Krassimir Valchev is categorical: so far the learning process is not in jeopardy. “We have to get used to the idea that we will have patients. If we have 200 patients a day, there will be at least 10 to 15 teachers and students. Those who, from the first days, could not be infected at school, did so in another environment “Maybe the teachers who started working earlier got infected,” he said.

Such may be the case with Lovech. A teacher with a coronavirus established before the first day of school contacted 8 of his colleagues in September.
