The 82-year-old patient was seriously ill and had been treated at home for ten days. He was short of breath. He did not eat, he did not drink. When the relatives want him to be hospitalized, the ambulance takes him to the Infectious Diseases Clinic. The practice is for all infectious disease patients to go there first. At the time of arrival, it is deteriorating. The colleague initiates the resuscitation actions according to a protocol. A resuscitation team was called in, but unfortunately the case ended fatally, Dr. Ivan Zdravkov, deputy director of the Center for Emergency Medical Care – Varna, said on the morning block of Nova TV.

Until a few days ago, we managed the accommodation relatively quickly. So there were few cases. One or two ambulances were detected and the wait was a maximum of 15 to 20 minutes, but as of Monday, November 2, the situation became much more difficult. Colleagues work too hard, they don’t even have time to eat for physiological needs, Dr. Zdravkov said.
