Coronavirus in Bulgaria: Tighter hospital control due to patient return (timeline) – Bulgaria

Since Monday, the Minister of Health, Kostadin Angelov, went personally to inspect the hospitals to make sure that his order to open the COVID rooms, which would be 10% of the capacity of the medical institution, was being complied with. He expressed disappointment at the actions of some hospital directors, who did their best to prevent coronavirus patients from the hospitals they run. Angelov warned that he would be absolutely uncompromising with anyone who tried to circumvent his order.

According to Angelov, it is incomprehensible how, when he issues an order, prohibiting planned accommodation and planned operations in hospitals, in large medical institutions, especially in Sofia, it is alleged that there are not enough staff to treat those infected with coronavirus.

“If there are not so many doctors, I will enter the COVID rooms. I will also call the deputies, who are doctors, to take off their suits, put on their clothes and go together to treat, after everyone thinks it is so scary I have already been in wards as a doctor, director and minister. I have not seen a doctor who strictly follows the rules and has received serious injuries, “said Angelov.
