Additional beds for coronavirus patients will be opened in Sofia at the District Hospital, Sofia Med, Tokuda, Alexandrovska, Pirogov and the Military Medical Academy, Health Minister Kostadin Angelov said today. A complete reorganization in the way of working is coming, he explained. This came after at least two cases from hospitals in the capital refused to accept patients with severe coronavirus, who later died.

According to Angelov, at the end of the week there will be no problem with the availability of beds in Sofia. The minister said that the ambulances will be equipped with laptops for up to 10 days, and will be able to monitor where there are free beds for coronavirus patients, so there is no wandering between hospitals.

Emergency Centers have been ordered to inform COVID patients every day. The director of the emergency service in Sofia Georgi Gelev explained that the stations related to the frequency of ambulances are going to be placed in the reception room of each hospital, so when looking for a free place for a patient with coronavirus, each hospital will say if possible patient.
