Coronavirus has penetrated more than 2,000 nursing homes in the UK, or around 13% of all, although care facilities have been closed for almost a month. After acknowledging this shocking fact, the British government is under pressure to provide treatment for the elderly and their staff.

Nursing homes are one of the preferred workplaces for Bulgarians on the island, there are even special places to hire personnel from our country, but statistics on the nationality of workers are not kept in them.

UK chief medical professor Chris Whitney announced that on Monday alone, 92 nursing homes and people with dementia reported having had a coronavirus outbreak.

Care England, which represents care companies, said about 1,000 people have died since the epidemic began. It is not known how many of them have been coronaviruses since there are no tests in homes and few retirees have been transferred to the hospital.

Baroness Ross Altman, a member of the House of Commons, has expressed concern about what is happening in nursing homes. She told the BBC that she had spoken to some of its residents and that they shared that they were treated as slaughtered lambs. According to her, there are not enough personnel because she gets sick or does not want to risk her life because she does not have the means of protection. This is believed to be one of the reasons for the spread of the virus in homes too quickly.

In Essex alone, the deaths are already 13. The daughter whose father died in it told the Dream that she had received the most shocking message of her life from home. He explained that the disease was so contagious that it would not allow his body to be washed as it is for any deceased, but would simply be packed in a special bag and can be forgiven online.

“I couldn’t even get my father’s wedding ring and other precious family jewelry because the staff was not allowed to remove any of the coronavirus symptoms that died,” said the distraught daughter. He called people close to their homes to ask them to hand over their belongings to the staff so they can have a chance to stay for their generations.

Call center deaths are not included in the overall UK coronavirus death statistics. If this is done, the death rate is likely to exceed 15%, experts estimate. It is now around 10%, which is among the highest in the world. The reason is that relatively few tests continue to be done and only severe cases are hospitalized.
