As of January 4, drivers or inspectors will not be able to buy tickets for public transport in Sofia, but inspections will resume.

Public transport controllers in Sofia are starting to monitor whether passengers are regular and whether they have transport documents as of January 4, 2021. From this date, however, they will not sell tickets of BGN 1.60, but will charge to irregular passengers with a ticket priced at BGN 30.

Drivers won’t sell tickets either. This was announced by the Urban Mobility Center and asked all those who will travel by public transport to obtain the necessary documents in advance: maps or tickets.

The 61 CGM cash registers work, as well as those of the metro, which are 81. Transport documents can be purchased at the 114 Post Offices, at 116 totopunkta, at the “345” chain stores, as well as at more than 200 locations of our external distributors, the majority close to public transport stops ”, points out the CMV.

A day pass can also be purchased online through the MPASS app.
