The 2014 Eurovision contest winner Conchita Wurst was arrested by police in Dusseldorf on her way to appear on the masked singer show.

The 31-year-old artist was unable to enter Germany due to measures against the spread of the coronavirus, although she provided a signed contract for her appearance on the show.

The security guards detained her at the entrance of the transit room and, together with her partner, had to go to the guard.

The policemen remained firm, despite the contract signed for Conchita Wurst’s participation in the live broadcast of the television program Pro7 Masked Singer.

As it is a one-time contribution, the contract is not recognized as a work commitment, however, which Wurst disagrees with. The federal police arrested Wurst, who was at risk of spending the night at the police station before being sent back to Vienna the following day.

After conversations with Konchita’s management, he was allowed to enter German territory shortly after midnight, from where he went to a hotel in Cologne.
