ACTS Post opinions with a wide range of perspectives to encourage constructive discussion.
Police protesting in a tent in front of the Council of Ministers. The Association of Medical Assistants, Nurses and Paramedics demanded Borissov’s resignation due to the chaos of epidemiological measures. 132 days of protesters shouting for the prime minister to wash up and take Ivan Geshev, the government and parliament with him. At Svishtov Hospital, an economist, a physiotherapist and a nurse care for COVID patients.
The situation at Shumen Hospital is tragic. The same is true in Razgrad and other cities. There are not enough medications. We urgently need more than 30,000 nurses. Independent financial experts and economists have described the 2021 budget bill as shameful.
GERB members and supporters, you all know perfectly well that the photos with the millions and the gold bars in Borisov’s drawer, as well as the recordings of his oaths, insults and cynicism are completely authentic. The last performance: “Dabe his mother is stupid. Let’s get out of here!” – also true – you know.
Many of you are honest people who once believed that you supported a normal party. In 11 years of Borissov’s rule, we have not moved from the EU base by at least 1-2 points of the black statistics. We continue to be the poorest, the sickest and the dying. Borissov boasts about roads, but it is the duty of every government to build roads. In other countries the same is done for decades and even centuries, and it has been done with quality and punctuality. Probably money is stolen there too, but there is a limit, there is a normal prosecutor’s office, investigations and a court. There is also corruption there, but it has not spread throughout the country. And there are immoral rulers, but not totally degraded. And the mafia is everywhere, but here the mafia is in government. The districts and towns of the countryside are feudal estates. Organized crime and extortion are a model of governance. The prosecution is the Ministry of Punishment, not a bastion of law. The clumsy are chased and crushed.
We see all this, you, the people of GERB, also see it. You know how activists and party greats get rich, pass lobbying laws, participate in secret deals and schemes. You also know that Borisov and Peevski are a tandem working at full speed in the interests of the oligarchic-mafia circle.
Recently, the statements of the leader of his party and the Prime Minister have been downright shameful. They pose alarming questions, the most important of which is: Why is an entire nation held hostage to a forgotten and probably ill ruler? Do you really believe this man’s daily boast that we are thriving? Don’t you see what is happening around you, with your family and acquaintances? Is it good that more than two million Bulgarians are abroad? Hate your homeland? Do you really think that only Borisov and his circle are patriots?
Silence does not make you innocent, but an accomplice.
Bulgarians have never been famous for their rebellious spirit and the fate of our fans throughout the centuries proves it. But at least once in a lifetime, one must make the right decision, not the right one. If you care so much about Borisov, help him by convincing him to leave. Isn’t there at least one of you who yells “Enough!” Telling the leader that he has crossed all limits and must go. This will happen anyway, but you can end the agony. The fate of millions of people is at stake. Tell him the truth about the Bulgaria that he invented and that we live in. You have no idea how much he doesn’t care about you. Do it so that you can look your children in the eye, and also to calm their conscience at least a little.
Boris Petkov
