The situation in Panicherevo has been mastered, the head of state health inspectors, Professor Angel Kunchev, told reporters. This afternoon, he visited the sub-Balkan town, where a 14-day quarantine was introduced starting at 00:00 on April 15, BTA reports.
In the last three days, six residents of the Roma neighborhood infected with COVID-19 have been admitted for treatment at the University Hospital of Stara Zagora. The results of the first 80 samples from contact persons, which were analyzed by PCR tests from the Regional Health Inspectorate – Stara Zagora today, are expected to be clarified.
Associate Professor Angel Kunchev predicts a peak of the COVID-19 pandemic in Bulgaria in a week, which will be different in different regional centers. According to him, the more people surveyed, the more real the situation in the country will be.
Earlier in the day, Associate Professor Angel Kunchev visited the Virology Laboratory at the Infectious Diseases Clinic at Prof. Dr. Stoyan Kirkovich University Hospital, where he performed 300 PCR tests.
