Beginning on Wednesday (December 30), Turkey required a negative PCR for those arriving at the country’s land borders. Those who enter without a test are subject to a mandatory 7-day quarantine, after which they must be screened again. If the test is positive, the patients will be treated on the spot. Two days ago, a trial requirement was introduced for those arriving by plane in Turkey. The measures will remain in effect until March.

The day before the new year, the world recorded a record 14,000 deaths from coronavirus. In many countries there are records of infected or dead during one day. The United States is one of the countries that broke the black record with 3,725 casualties per day. Among them is a 41-year-old US congressman elected in the last election. Luke Letlow is also the first member of Congress to be swept away by the coronavirus. The Louisiana legislature tested positive on December 18, but the disease quickly led to irreversible complications.

US President-elect Joe Biden has said he will require citizens to wear masks when entering the White House, RIA Novosti reported. “Our administration will require masks to be worn wherever we can enforce them – federal officials, in federal buildings, and when traveling between states by plane and train,” Biden said. He promised to use the law to mobilize wartime production to speed up immunization. “The law will direct private companies to support the government’s efforts against COVID-19,” Biden said. He is already being immunized in public, and his vice president, Kamala Harris, did the same on Tuesday.
