Bulgarian families spend more on EU-wide communications, according to Eurostat. With us, the percentage of monthly income that goes to these expenses is 4.66. They are followed by Croatia (4), Greece (3.9) and Romania (3.4). In Luxembourg, they spend only 1.3% of their money, followed by Denmark and Austria (1.8).
The median level has fallen dramatically over the past decade from 3% in 2009 to 2.4% in 2019.
The most serious drop is in Estonia (from 4 to 2.3), followed by Noideland (-1.1%), France (-1%), Ireland and Poland (-0.9%).
Only three countries have risen: Romania (from 2.3 to 3.4 or +1.1), Croatia (+0.3) and Sweden (+0.2).
On the other hand, we are in the top three in terms of reducing alcohol costs. In 2019, the EU spent 117 billion euros on drinking or 0.8% of EU GDP. And this is only for restaurants and hotels.
Latvia spends the most on the family budget (4.8%), Estonia (4.7%) and Lithuania (3.7%). Only 0.9% of the budget goes to drinking in Greece and Italy.
For the period 2009-2019 there is a decrease in 13 EU countries. It is highest in Lithuania (-1.8%). They are followed by Latvia (-1.5), Bulgaria (1.3) and Estonia (-1.1). Now the level in our country is 1.6% of costs, which is the community average.
There is an increase in Romania (from 2.1 to 2.6) and Portugal (from 1.1 to 1.4).
In six countries (Denmark, Germany, France, Italy, the Netherlands and Slovenia) there are no changes in 10 years.
