The study is expected to start today with rapid tests for every 1,000 Bansko people. These will be people who worked in the tourism business during the winter season and people who worked in the field during quarantine. Citizens will also be able to explore.

The Blagoevgrad Health Inspectorate and municipal leaders will jointly organize the order in which the tests will be conducted. It will be held at the local outpatient clinic and will last for several days. The goal is to determine how many residents already have antibodies to the coronavirus and at what stage the disease is occurring among people in the city.

“We have no contradictions with the prime minister in principle, if we study only risk groups, we will only find out about them. And we need information on all of them,” said infectious painter Assoc. Prof. Atanas Mangorov to Bulgaria in the morning.

According to him, when evaluating Bansko residents, people should be selected at random, not just the risk groups: doctors, police.

“I hope that what is done is well thought out. We do not know how many are infected at the moment, we know next to nothing about the state of the population’s immune status,” Mangrov told Bulgaria ON AIR.

He explained that the population is considered protected if antibodies are detected in 70% of people.

“For an hour and a half we talked to Boyko Borisov about the medical nature of the problem and what is the way to solve it. He will probably hear about the parks and mountains in the coming days,” explained the interlocutor.
