A 47-year-old Bulgarian citizen was among those killed in the explosion in the Spanish capital, Madrid, the Foreign Ministry said.

The powerful explosion exploded around 3 pm local time in a 7-story building on Toledo Street in the center of the Spanish capital. According to initial information, the cause of the explosion was a gas leak during repairs. The building is owned by a church.

Evacuation of those in and around is underway, where there is also serious material damage, including cars damaged by the explosion. Videos and photos on social media and media show the scale of destruction immediately after the blast in the building and on the surrounding streets.
