The critical resolution on Bulgaria, which the European Parliament passed last night in support of protests and the rule of law in our country, sparked a scandal in the National Assembly this morning.

The ruling GERB and the United Patriots apologized for the criticism from Brussels, arguing that it was staining in Bulgaria caused by Bulgarian MEPs, and the BSP announced that Europe’s attitude towards Bulgaria was not the same as Thursday and demanded the resignation of the government of Boyko Borissov.

The MRF, whose MEPs abstained, had no comment.

The first statement was made by Alexander Sidi of the United Patriots, who declared that the BSP and Democratic Bulgaria would unite against the country, which he said included two exclusive groups: the “torturers and campers in Belene”. After speaking out against the Istanbul Convention, people of different sexual orientations and same-sex marriages, criticizing the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen for her stance on these issues and announcing that there is no Macedonian minority in Bulgaria Sidi said that the “patriots” only support “Europe of the Fatherland and the Nations”, led by the Christian religion.

“The culprit of corruption is GERB”

The second speaker was Dragomir Stoynev of the BSP, who, pointing to the GERB deputies, said that the culprit for corruption, lack of rule of law and freedom of expression is on the right side of the room. After analyzing the votes in the European Parliament, Stoynev said that Boyko Borissov now has support in Europe only from Jaroslav Kaczynski, Victor Orban, Marin Le Pen and Matteo Salvini.

“Our democracy is sick. A cure must be found for it,” said the BSP deputy. According to him, Europe already doubts that GERB can protect European values, and problems with the distribution of public finances in our country and with trust in institutions are on the rise. In conclusion, he said that the result was the immediate resignation of the government and early parliamentary elections.

“BSP saves the cauldron of hell”

In response, Toma Bikov from GERB congratulated the BSP and MRF on the success and said that the European Parliament resolution was a stain on Bulgaria, caused by Bulgarian MEPs not defending the national interest. According to him, it is about the socialists “detached from the world”, whom he called “the left of caviar”, and Radan Kanev. He concluded: “They have the support of the losers in Europe, we have the support of the winners.”

“As long as there are socialists and liberals in Bulgaria, we don’t need guards for the cauldron of hell,” Toma Bikov said.

After acknowledging that Bulgaria has problems with both corruption and the rule of law, he said that GERB would not allow it to become Europe’s black sheep, nor would it have double standards, as there is no such resolution even for Korea. North. .

“We are not worse than North Korea. We are not worse than the countries of Europe,” Toma Bikov said, arguing that the country has done better than Europe with the refugee problem. He then addressed the BSP, saying that decent politicians love their people and do not accuse them of being corrupt, because, according to him, “each country is made by the people, not by politicians. Finally, he said that the Socialists wanted power without winning the elections.

According to GERB, a big mistake of the European Parliament is that it supports a lie: that there are Macedonians in Bulgaria.
