Brutal replacement of the history of Bulgarian sport (video) – More sports – Other sports

[ad_1]

A manipulated and provocative video appeared on the internet video sharing platform YouTube, insulting Bulgaria and Bulgarian sports. It is a frank replacement for our history, writes Meridian Match.

In the video, the legendary Naim Suleymanov (Suleymanoglu), who is a product of the Bulgarian weightlifting school and who competed in our country from 1982 to 1986, was featured as a Turkish weightlifter at the 1983 Moscow World Championships.

The truth is that this is the first men’s world championship of the phenomenal weightlifter in the town of Ptichar (Momchilgrad region). At the time he was only 16 years old and caused a sensation, improving the world record in the throw (130 kg) in cat. up to 56 kg. In the end, Naim remained second in the match after Oksen Mirzoyan (USSR).

The video, uploaded to the weightlifting archive platform, shows Naim Suleymanoglu (TUR) on the podium every time he appears on the podium. In the final ranking, TUR is again behind the Pocket Hercules name.

The video is about nine minutes long and was filmed by former International Weightlifting Federation President Gottfried Schoedl (Austria), but was apparently manipulated years later. On the Moscow information panel, however, there is the Suleymanov (PRC) inscription, which cannot be removed. On Naim’s chest is the coat of arms of Bulgaria, and at the bottom is Ivan Abadjiev.

Other videos of Schoedl from the world and European championships of the 70s and 80s have been uploaded. There is the voice of the Austrian, commenting on each appearance of a weightlifter on the podium. For the Moscow World Cup, however, there is no sound, just an image. This was done quite deliberately to put the provocative inscription and not hear the voice of Schoedl, who glorifies the phenomenal 16-year-old Bulgarian weightlifter and the methodology of Ivan Abadjiev.
