A British citizen was arrested by a decree from the Velingrad prosecutor’s office accused of recklessly killing her 7-month-old baby, the state prosecutor’s office announced. On 8 November, Velingrad police received a signal from the local ambulance that British LL and her husband, a Bulgarian citizen, brought their 7-month-old son to the ward, who was killed.
Both parents of the deceased baby were arrested. An autopsy on the boy showed that he had died of a severe traumatic brain injury. The baby’s parents gave conflicting testimony to the police, claiming that when they woke up on the morning of November 8, they saw that their son was dead.
This forced specialists from the Institute of Criminology of the Interior Ministry to come to Velingrad and subject the two detainees to a polygraph, a lie detector. The parents were found to be lying about the child’s death. During the investigation it became clear that during the night the mother went to get the child out of bed and fell with the baby, hitting her head on the floor. However, his mother put him to bed and found him dead in the morning. A British police report showed that LL There are 3 more children in the UK who have also been abducted by social services.
It turned out that the mother was an alcoholic and a drug addict and was aggressive in raising her children. Probably because of this, seven months ago, together with her current husband and the father of her future child, they came to Velingrad. His idea was that the child would be born there so that he would not be withdrawn from British social services, like the other children of British women. The father of the child is not blamed for the death of the baby. I did not know that the mother had fallen with the baby during the night. At the request of the prosecution, the Velingrad court imposed permanent detention on the British citizen.
