This is the second preparation in the country after Pfizer and BioNTech.

The UK has approved a COVID-19 vaccine, jointly developed by the University of Oxford and Astra Zeneca.

This is a turning point in the fight against infection and will lead to a major escalation of the immunization campaign in the UK, which aims to bring life back to normal, experts say.

London has ordered 100 million doses from the manufacturer Astra Zeneca, enough to vaccinate 50 million people.

The drug was designed in the early months of 2020, tested in volunteers in April, and has since undergone large-scale clinical trials involving thousands of people.
