Boyko Borissov was controlled, he was pressured not to resign

Prime Minister Boyko Borissov finds himself in a jam between the protest and the core of GERB, which forces him not to resign. This is what sociologist Dimitar Ganev said on “This Morning” on bTV.

He presented the results of a nationally representative survey conducted by the sociological agency Trend, funded by 24 Chasa. It took place from August 29 to September 5 through a face-to-face interview with 1,008 Bulgarian adults.

In August and September there is no dynamic in support for the protest, it is around 60% and 30% do not support, commented the sociologist.

He noted that according to the poll, GERB supporters are adamant about the protests, not fully supporting them, as well as the need for early elections and the resignation of the government.

For the snap elections, almost 50% have already declared that it is necessary, Ganev said.

However, according to him, the subject of the new Constitution is foreign. “37% – do not support the changes, but a third respond with I cannot judge – almost 34%. The initiative that finds the greatest support is to reduce the number of deputies,” said Dimitar Ganev.

According to him, there is a decrease in public support for the ruling party, but it does not lead to growth in the BSP, on the contrary.

“If the BSP becomes the first political force, it will be due to a decrease in GERB, not an increase in socialists. Those who are somehow benefiting from the protests and growing in recent weeks are” There are people like that “and” Democratic Bulgaria, “explained Dimitar Ganev.

If the United Patriots and Maya Manolova’s party on the border enter parliament, there will be a total of seven parties. Then there is no other option but a coalition of at least three parties, said the sociologist.

“The political configuration seems very difficult. At least three formations must have a coalition agreement to have a majority, “he said.

Sociologist Evelina Slavkova said in “Hello Bulgaria” on Nova TV that Borisov is in a difficult situation and all his speeches lately are to mobilize the electorate.

A sociological survey by Trend shows the equalization of the electoral weight of GERB and BSP, he added.

“The equalization of forces between GERB and BSP is not due to the fact that support for the Reds is growing, but because the ruling party is losing its periphery. Her BSP colleagues are already focused on the upcoming internal battles of the party, “Slavkova said.

“The data for August also shows two winners of what is happening. These are Slavi Trifonov’s party” There is such a people “and” Democratic Bulgaria “. However, the followers of the showman cannot vote. It depends on whether he will be able to mobilize them. Maya Manolova’s party and the United Patriots are at the 4% barrier. It is very likely that Slavi will play a decisive role in the formation of the ruling coalition, because it will be very difficult for BSP and GERB to form a minority cabinet, “he added.

“The most dangerous thing for the protest is that it does not become a background event, the news is transmitted and it is seen that there are people protesting, but it is ignored,” said the sociologist.
