Botev led Arda twice but took a U-turn

Botev (Plovdiv) led twice against Arda, but eventually came back and lost 2: 3 in a First League fourth round match, which was played at Kardzhali Stadium. Atanas Iliev (1, 45 + 6) scored the goals for the “Canaries”, and Ivan Kokonov (30, 70) and Spas Delev (85) were accurate for the hosts.

After the goal, the game was not resumed for almost 6 minutes, as the Botev goalkeeper received a strong blow from the scorer and was replaced by force by Georgi Argilashki. Shortly before the break, Marquinhos was injured.

Seconds before the end of the 6-minute extension of the first half, Botev was again ahead in the result. Todor Nedelev crossed into the penalty area, where Atanas Iliev intercepted with his head 1: 2.

After the break, Todor Nedelev tried twice to transfer the goalkeeper to Arda, but without success.

In the 70th minute, the hosts returned to the match, and again Ivan Kokonov was accurate. Chief referee Georgi Kabakov awarded a penalty for hand-playing into Slavcho Shokolarov’s penalty area. Kokonov’s first shot was blocked by Georgi Argilashki, but in extra time the striker scored 2: 2.

Five minutes before the end, Spas Delev brought success to Arda, scoring 3: 2. This happened after some attractive side scissors, detecting a cross by Deyan Lozev.
