Boryana Pencheva, a former member of the board of directors of the Bulgarian National Bank, passed away today, the institution announced.
“Boryana Pencheva left a significant mark with her professionalism, work capacity and ethical attitude during her tenure as a member of the Board of Directors of the Bulgarian National Bank from December 2, 2012 to December 1, 2018,” they note.
In 2010-2012 she was Vice Minister of Finance and Alternative Governor for Bulgaria of the International Monetary Fund, Governor for Bulgaria of the Black Sea Trade and Development Bank, International Investment Bank, International Bank for Economic Cooperation, Vice President of the Council for coordination in the fight against fraud in the Council of Ministers.
Since 2011 she has been a part-time lecturer in “Regional Development and Infrastructure in the EU” with a specialization in “European Studies” at Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski”.
In 2002-2009, Boryana Pencheva served as Director of the EU Funds Management Directorate in the Ministry of Finance.
In 2001-2002 she was Executive Director of the Trade Promotion Agency of the Ministry of Economy.
