Prime Minister Boyko Borissov opposes a new complete shutdown of the country due to the spread of Covid-19, although there is great pressure on the health system. According to him, the restrictions should not be excessive.

“The whole world is in a pandemic. Our healthcare system is fighting heroically right now,” Prime Minister Boyko Borissov said during a working meeting with members of the Coronavirus National Operational Headquarters.

According to him, the life and health of Bulgarians always come first in every action.

The prime minister is glad that there are many who have recovered.

Lots of people drive it lightly. Two weeks go by, they come back and tell their neighbors, friends and colleagues: “It’s very easy.” They go to work, they think they have recovered and that they deserve a normal life. That’s why 50% say they are against the measures. This is the formal reading. Purely politically, many of the colleagues started blocking immediately. You look at the index, but you also look at the number of recovered and how many have returned. “I absolutely agree with you that our health system is fighting heroically right now and that is why every day we have 1200-1300 cured,” said Prime Minister Borissov.

“At the same time, we are monitoring the percentage of infected. Not too much should be taken, a balance is needed,” he said.

To increase income and pensions, to help businesses, even to buy vaccines or to support hospitals, there must be a working economy for all this, the prime minister added.

“We are discussing the current situation with the Minister of Health and members of the National Operations Headquarters. Every report from the doctors is being carefully analyzed,” added Borissov.

The prime minister also commented on how he himself contracted the coronavirus.

“The problem is with people with comorbidities, with the elderly. I have had it very bad and I still cannot recover. I still feel very affected. The vast majority of young people do not feel that way. Until yesterday, they said that with masks we want shut their mouths. On the one hand we have hospitals, medical personnel who are exhausted, on the other hand we have the public opinion that thinks that it will pass or it will pass easily. 20% do not believe that such a thing exists at all, “he added. the first Minister.

During the meeting, Health Minister Kostadin Angelov reported on the development of the COVID-19 pandemic in Bulgaria. The specific morbidity and mortality parameters in the country were discussed. An inspection of the workload of the hospitals in our country was carried out, announced the press service of the cabinet.

The meeting was attended by the chairman of the staff, Professor Ventsislav Mutafchiiski, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, Krassimir Karakachanov, the head of state health inspectors, Professor Angel Kunchev and the directors of the Pirogov and Alexandrovska hospital, Professor Asen Baltov and Professor Boris Bogov. indicated in the message.
