Prime Minister Boyko Borissov marked the Day of Remembrance for the Victims of the Communist Regime.

Eternal memory of the victims of the communist regime! 76 years ago, the so-called “People’s Court”, which is neither a people’s court nor a court, started one of the darkest trials in our history. Illegitimate, primitive and politically controlled, Unfortunately, there are still voices that this criminal act is a “necessary and inevitable justice”. There are still politicians who are too shy about the issue and claim to be Democrats. That our efforts have paid off and the tenth graders are already studying the history of communism in Bulgaria, “the prime minister wrote on his social network profile.

According to Borissov, only objective knowledge of the past can give us the necessary lessons for the future. He also points out that today our country is a respected member of the EU, which is the guarantor of respect for human rights and democratic principles.

Without doubt, the thousands of victims are the most painful consequence, but not the only one, of the communist regime. The damage to the economy left by the communists and their successors, we are repairing to this day! These same heirs, today repainted in different colors, want energy again at all costs. And for this purpose they use the well-known methods: the humiliation and destruction of political opponents. We will continue to be an alternative to this. For the broken destinies we worship today! Said the Prime Minister.
