“We all knew what would happen to COVID-19, so I insisted on a single medical protocol, uniform rapid tests, solidarity and fair access to vaccines in the EU. As early as July, August, September, this could have been done and we could have acted against this insidious virus. ” This was stated by Prime Minister Boyko Borissov before the videoconference of the members of the European Council on COVID-19, the government information service announced.
The Bulgarian Prime Minister noted that the issue of purchasing vaccines is a cause for concern, as orders are placed before their development.
“We don’t have a specification, we don’t have guarantees, and at some point it may turn out that we have 300 million vaccines and we have, for example, 300,000 people who want them, and then they have to be destroyed, discarded, not resold,” he said. Prime Minister Borissov.
He added that vaccines require special storage conditions, which imposes additional costs.
“Shortly, I will inform my colleagues in the European Council of my concerns and insist on full transparency regarding the supply of vaccines,” Borissov added.
